A possible explanation for the E821 experiment concerning the muon anomalous magnetic moment aμ is presented which includes spin-inertia coupling effects not previously considered, using techniques of general relativity. Particular attention is paid to the Mashhoon effect, an anticipated intrinsic spin-rotation coupling correction to the Dirac Hamiltonian that may help to account for the discrepancy.
