The RXTE All Sky Monitor (ASM) detected a reactivation of the recurrent transient and bursting neutron star Aquila X-1 about 24 Feb 2003 at a level of about 43 mCrab (1.5-12 keV). The count has risen to a level of about 110 mCrab on 27 Feb 2003. A pointed observation with the Proportional Counter Array (PCA) at 18 UT 25 Feb 2003 found 70 mCrab with a spectrum approximately fit by a power law with photon index 2.
