We consider a discretized Kaluza-Klein model in which the continuous circle in the fifth dimension is replaced by two discrete points leading to a two-sheeted space-time. We discuss the geometry of such a two-sheeted space-time within the framework of Connes noncommutative geometry and the coupling of matter fields in the background of such a curved space-time. As a prelude to the study of the Standard Model with the inclusion of gravitational interactions, we investigate a simplified model consisting of two chiral spinor fields and two abelian gauge fields. While we reproduce the standard model features, we are led to parity violating interactions due to the inclusion of gravitational interactions which could have importantant implications in cosmology and particle physics.
