We have analyzed x-ray data from the neutron star XB 1916-053 using the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) satellite. Energy spectra were generated and fit with models containing a blackbody and a power law component. Observations were grouped according to position in a color-color diagram and the spectral fits were re-applied to show that observations in similar positions in a color-color diagram have similar spectral shapes. We also searched for quasi-periodic oscillations (QPOs) in the x-ray light curve. A rough correlation was found between the frequencies of the high frequency QPOs and the position on the color-color diagram. Two high frequency QPOs were found in the August 1st observation with a frequency difference of roughly 337 Hz. The correlation between QPO frequency and the color-color diagram lends credence to theories involving the inner radius of the accretion disk in the production of high frequency QPOs. However, the incompatibility of the frequency separation of 337 Hz with the observed burst frequency 270 Hz, and half of that frequency (135 Hz), is inconsistent with the recently proposed theories.
