In plasmas at temperatures above about 1 MeV, nuclei get broken up, either through particle- or photon-induced reactions. These breakup reactions alter the abundances of light elements in such plasmas, and affect the production of gamma-ray lines from deexcitations or radiative captures by the nuclei, reducing their emissivities at high temperatures. Results are presented here for the characteristic temperatures at which various light nuclei break up and for the effect of these processes on the production of certain characteristic gamma-ray lines.
