The radiation energies of the low-temperature regions of 5508 flares observed in 1978 are calculated. The radiation in all of the lines and continua of the hydrogen series (beginning with Lyman) with typical parameters of flares with different intensities is taken into account. Data on the H-alpha intensity, and area and lifetime of each flare are taken from observations. The total energy radiated by the flares increases with an increase in importance. With a decrease in flare energy to 5 x 10 to the 20th J, the number of flares increases and then rapidly decreases.
