A self-consistent description of dynamic processes in the midlatitude ionosphere and plasmasphere is obtained on the basis of an analytical solution of the equations of continuity and motion. Analytical expressions are obtained for the flux of H(+) ions from the ionosphere into the plasmasphere and back. These flux values can be used as upper boundary conditions in hybrid ionosphere models. It is shown that the diurnal-variation amplitude of H(+) concentration at the tube apex increases with increasing latitude.
