Radiative Transfer, Interstellar Clouds
Scientific paper
We describe our work on modelling of interstellar clouds where magnetohydrodynamic simulations are combined with 3D radiative transfer calculations of continuum and line emission. We will discuss methods that improve efficiency of radiative transfer calculations and make it possible to handle large, three-dimensional models. Development of radiative transfer methods for hierarchical models is discussed. Hierarchical grids allow modelling of large ranges of scales and they will also be useful in the analysis of future observations of ALMA and Herschel.
