Neutrinos and their interaction with the stellar medium play a crucial role in the understanding of supernova evolution. Neutrino nucleus interactions in the energy regime of supernovae can be investigated with neutrino detectors at proton beam stop targets which form a neutrino source via pion and muon decay. We review the results of the KArlsruhe Rutherford Medium Energy Neutrino (KARMEN) experiment at the ISIS accelerator with special emphasis on the measurement of neutrino-induced reactions on 12C, 13C and 56Fe.
