Scientific paper

We propose to study a QSO with host galaxy at redshift. It will be imaged with the STIS CCD to study the morphology of the host galaxy with PSF and S/N than possible with WFPC2. We will obtain long-slit off-nuclear spectra in the host galaxy to study the stellar populations, gas dynamics and ages. We will obtain spectra of the nucleus with the same slit to allow the measurement and subtraction of nuclear contamination.
