Astronomers met at Keele University, Staffordshire, in June to discuss
how observations of extended horizontal branch stars have changed our
view of hot star atmospheres, stellar winds, single and binary star
evolution, stellar pulsations and the age estimates for elliptical
galaxies. Pierre Maxted reports.
