The peculiar velocity field of galaxies at distances > 10 h^- 1Mpc probes the mass distribution at the largest scales in the universe. Recent bulk flow measurements at ~ 6000 km s^-1 have yielded quite contradictory results. A number of major surveys are underway to probe beyond this velocity to find the depth (in redshift) of the convergence to the CMB dipole. Type Ia supernovae provide accurate luminosity distances in this redshift range; in fact, they are the most accurate distance indicators to single objects, with a typical error of 0.1m. They are rare however, and only ~ 40 Type Ia supernovae have been measured adequately to define a supernova reference frame. In this pilot proposal, we are asking for YALO time to obtain minimum light curves in BVIJ for 6 southern SNe in the redshift range (0.02 < z < 0.1) that are announced in the IAU Circulars. If we can increase the sample size to 100 Type Ia supernovae, we will have an independent check on the convergence depth to the CMB dipole.
