Three proposed astronomical experiments for Spacelab in which Dutch groups are to be involved are briefly outlined. One experiment is for high-plate-resolution X-ray measurements of the sun. The detector will be able to determine the place of detection and the energy. The Shuttle Ultraviolet Stellar Spectrograph (SUSS) will be a joint ESA/NASA effort. It will have higher resolution than its balloon-borne predecessor (BUSS) and will cover the region 1200-3100 A. The final proposal is to investigate X-ray bursts in the 4-60 keV region, which the ANS first discovered. The position of X-ray sources in the sky will be reconstructed with the aid of an instrument in which the X-ray shadow of a pattern of holes is detected and analyzed by correlation techniques.
