The transition frequencies of the hyperfine structure sublevels of atomic nitrogen lie in the decametric waveband and can be observed in the form of narrow spectral lines. The N-14 ground state is split into three sublevels, F = 5/2, 3/2, and 1/2. The Einstein coefficients given in the present paper were calculated from improved values of the line intensities observed by Kontorovich et al. (1964). An attempt to detect the N-14 absorption line for extended cosmic objects, using the UTR-2 radio telescope, is described. It proved possible to detect the 26.13 MHz absorption line in the signal from Cas A.
