A new ionosonde developed at the Sydney Laboratory of Radio Research Board, has been modified to provide recording of received signal amplitude as the recorder is swept rapidly over a range of frequencies. Movements of amplitude peaks in both F- and Es-ionogram traces have been used to derive information on fine structure of perturbations of ion density in these regions.
