An account is given of an effort to model the diffusion of Ar-40 through the lunar regolith and ascertain whether a sudden release of Ar-40 at depth could reach the atmosphere of Marcury rapidly, as well as to relate the volume of gas released to the surface supply rate. The various initial conditions are chosen in such a way as to approximately match the possible solutions that have been proposed for these results.
