The Z grains, a rare class of circumstellar SiC grains, appear to have
formed in the stellar winds of low-metallicity, low-mass AGB stars that
experienced extensive dredge-up of He shell matter. Measurements of the
abundances of such heavy elements as Ba, Nd, and Sm in single SiC Z
grains will help to further constrain the Z-grain parent stars.
