We propose a 240 ks observation (6x40 ks mosaic) of the large scale gas corona around the nearby radio galaxy and late-stage merger Centaurus A. We will measure the temperature, density, and entropy of the gas and characterize its morphology to constrain the dynamics of the merger as well as the interaction between the gas and multiple epochs of nuclear activity. We will confirm the presence of the ghost-cavity southern counterpart to the Northern Middle Radio lobe and search for spatially extended features indicative of interactions between radio plasma and cold gas.
