ON September 18 the Norman Lockyer Observatory, Sidmouth, was informed of the discovery by Zwicky of a nova in Cygnus at R. A. 20h. 56m., Dec. + 35.7°, mag. 8. Cloudy sky prevented an observation before September 22. Since this date the region has been photographed seven times on four nights. Clouds prevented more work being done and bright moonlight restricted the exposure time. Only the night of October 1 was clear and steady, and a photovisual exposure of 2h. was obtained.
