We investigate a dynamical model of wavefunction collapse in the cosmological context by using the idea of continuous spontaneous localization of baryonic wavefunctions. By invoking a cosmological time dependence for the effective collapse rate from an appropriate epoch in the early universe up to the present time, we calculate the integrated total contribution of the liberated energy to the present energy density of the universe. This is found to be of an order of magnitude comparable with the critical density of the universe.
