It is shown that, if an electron neutrino has a magnetic moment mu of about 10 to the -11th mu(B), a resonant total reversal of its spirality can arise in the nuclear layer of a supernova having a density of 10 to the -12th g/cu cm. Therefore, contrary to assertions made in the literature, this value of mu not only does not contradict SN 1987A neutrino data but can explain the supernova shell ejection mechanism.
