Motivated by supersymmetric theories, we consider the possibility that weakly interacting massive particles, χ, perhaps making the dark matter of the universe, are long lived, but not completely stable (τχ>H0-1). In condition of relatively low density, and depending on the actual value of τχ, χ-decays may give better signals than χ-annihilations. Under reasonable assumption, from the study of isotropic γ-rays, cosmic rays and diffuse X-rays, we can set a lower bound on the χ-lifetime, τχ>~1025-1026 s. In fact, if the actual value of τχ is close to this bound, several expected different signals can approach, or even saturate, the level of present observations.
