The authors present multicolor CCD images and long slit spectroscopic data for NGC 5514. This galaxy is composed of two interacting disk systems with morphological similarities to the antennae NGC 4038/39. The authors find two regions of line emission of H II and LINER type. Notably, these regions are located in the outer parts of the galaxy, whereas the nuclear region is nearly devoid of line emission.
