Visual observations of (4) Vesta made during the period 1989 to 1996 have been analysed. Values for the photometric parameters have been derived as follows: H = 3.26 ( 0.03 and G = 0.36 ( 0.03. Using a value for the diameter of 501km an albedo of 0.36 was calculated from the observations. Modelling the shape from photoelectric measures shows a satisfactory agreement with the imagery secured by the Hubble Space Telescope.
