A toy model of seismicity, based on a system of movable interacting disks, was used to evaluate the velocity of chaotization process in coordinate phase space. This paper pursues two major goals: to demonstrate that the model reproduces some important features of seismicity in terms of similarity of energy dissipation processes in the model and in the lithosphere; and to show that the simple measure of trajectory separation increases with time, not as a standard Lyapunov exponent, but rather obeying the power law, resulting in a `weak chaos' situation.
