Periodically driven Markovian processes are treated in the semiadiabatic limit. In this limit all but one characteristic times of the undriven system are fast compared to the driving frequency. The proposed theory is based on the Floquet representation of the conditional probability and makes use of the instantaneous bases of eigenfunctions of the corresponding forward and backward master operators. The methodology is exemplified with the standard Brownian motion model of stochastic resonance. Quantitative agreement is reached with known results in the fully adiabatic limit and in the regime of linear response theory.
