The ISAS Mercury exploration WG has done the feasibility study and conceptual design of the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO) in the BepiColombo mission in collaboration with ESA. The scientific objectives and the scientific payload were extensively discussed in the BepiColombo Science Workshop in Sept. 2001 and in the working group meetings. Results of the feasibility study, the mission definition study, and the science objectives were summarized as a mission proposal to the Steering Committee for Space Science in ISAS. The mission proposal was evaluated by the evaluation subcommittee and got a recommendation from the Steering Committee for Space Science. Based on this recommendation, last summer ISAS proposed a budget for MMO spacecraft to the government. In this paper we will report updated status of the ISAS mission study of the MMO spacecraft.
