The current state of knowledge regarding the moons of the planet Saturn is considered. Ten natural satellites of the planet have been known before the arrival of the space probe Pioneer 11 at the location of Saturn. Today it is known that there are at least 17 satellites. Three were found by Voyager I, and two more were discovered on the basis of ground-based observations. Data provided by the cosmic radiation instrument carried by Voyager 2 indicate that there might exist an 18th satellite. Data representing the state of knowledge regarding the Saturnian satellites, as of February 1982, are presented in a table, and the characteristics of the individual satellites are discussed. Particular attention is given to the satellite Titan, which is the only moon of the solar system having a dense atmosphere.
