SIRTF, NASA's Space Infrared Telescope Facility, is gearing up for a 15 Apr 2003 launch! The SIRTF Science Center at Caltech has issued the Cycle-1 Call for Proposals, soliciting research proposals for the General Observer and Archival Research programs. The proposal deadline will be about five and a half months after launch. SIRTF observations are planned and proposals are submitted through SPOT (SIRTF Planning Observations Tool). We review the capabilities of SIRTF and SPOT for the Solar System observer and describe aspects of proposal submission. More information can be found at http://sirtf.caltech.edu/SSC/
