Scientific paper

Prognoz-8 observations of proton events are examined. In addition to long-wave radio-emission bursts of solar origin, low-frequency magnetospheric emission in the 114-540 kHz range was recorded with powers up to 10 to the -11th to 10 to the -12th W/sq m s Hz. The source of this emission was located in the auroral zone; the emission is characterized as auroral kilometric radiation.
