The spherical oscillations of a satellite of small mass tethered to the main orbiter by a noninertial nonelastic cable are analyzed. The oscillations in low orbit are caused by aerodynanmic drag; these oscillations are considered as desirable phenomena which can provide new opportunities for geophysical research. A mathematical mnodel is discussed which takes into account the diurnal variations of the atmospheric density and atmospheric rotation.
