Interplanetary Magnetic Field: Cosmic Rays

Scientific paper

A relation has been established between the correlation vector of cosmic rays and the spectral function of the spirality of the interplanetary magnetic field on the basis of the kinetic equation. In the case of isotropic and two-dimensional turbulence a relation is given between the spectral indices of the correlation vector p and the spirality ν = p+1. An analysis is made of experimental data on measurements of the IMF by the ISEE-3 spacecraft and measurements of the cosmic-ray intensity at the Vostok station. The calculated correlation vector is directed perpendicularly to the ecliptic plane and gives a relation between the spectral indices p = ν-1.
