Rosetta, the Comet Nucleus Sample Return Mission (CNSR), designed to study the pre-solar environment and sample material from interstellar and galactic space is described. Study of the most primitive material in the solar system will provide an experimental approach to the chemical and physical processes that marked the beginning of that system 4.6 billion years ago. Diagrams of the Rosseta/CNSR mission scenario are presented. The Rosetta space segment carrier, lander and Earth re-entry capsule are shown in diagrammatic form.
