Potential ion acceleration and plasma outflow processes at Mercury are
presently discussed in the context of ion acceleration and outflow
observations in the terrestrial magnetosphere and topside ionosphere.
The Mercury acceleration and outflow processes are anticipated to have
many similarities with these processes in the vicinity of the Earth.
