The current understanding of the state of the physics of microprocesses in auroral plasmas initiated by the penetration of high-energy electrons is examined. It is shown that there exists a set of phenomena which cannot be explained without introducing collisionless (collective) interaction mechanisms. Plasma-turbulence effects in auroral arc regions are examined, and a new arc structure element, the plasma-turbulence (PT) layer, is introduced. Electron kinetics, neutral-composition variations, and IR and UV emission in the PT layers are considered.
