Approximate methods for calculating synthetic spectra in the H2O, CO2, and SO2 absorption bands are described which are used for a quantitative interpretation (chemical analysis and determination of cloud-layer parameters) of results of the Venera 15 and 16 infrared experiment. A simplified version of the line-by-line method is used for H2O; an equidistant-line method is used for CO2; and the overlapping-line method is used for SO2.
