The present morphogenetic analysis of orbits for the ideal first-order resonance problem in the neighborhood of the origin establishes that consideration of the cube root of the perturbation as a parameter, rather than the square root used in classical noncentral resonance problems, is required in problems involving central and near-central resonance. The application of Hori's (1966) method to the study of motions in the neighborhood of the origin is then conducted, and Lie-series expansions about the origins and Hori's averaging principles and auxiliary equations are discussed.
