A first color-magnitude diagram of the open cluster NGC 2112 is presented. Although the photometry does not reach the main sequence and thus no firm conclusion concerning the age is possible, it turns out that the cluster has to be placed among the oldest open clusters known. Preliminary values for distance and reddening are 800 pc and 0m.5, respectively. Strömgren data of a few stars indicate a metallicity about -1 dex.
