Cosmology: Theory, Analytical Models
Scientific paper
A fundamental architecture of inhomogeneous Newtonian cosmogonies is presented with emphasis on principal assumptions and analytical tools for their realization. As a main tool the Lagrangian theory for the motion of a self-gravitating continuum and, in particular, the Lagrangian theory of gravitational instability is investigated describing the non-linear evolution of inhomogeneities in terms of a single vectorial dynamical field variable. On its basis a seven-parameter cosmogony is formulated which is considered to provide a minimal scenario to account for present day observational data. The presentation of the cosmogony's organization is self-contained, its parameters are solely determined on the basis of observations. The link to a physical verification of the parameters is outlined, and some perspectives are discussed.
