The next generation of solar neutrino experiments will study mainly low energy solar neutrinos. In particular, Borexino among the new experiments aims to search for 7Be neutrinos by neutrino-electron elastic scattering in 300 tons of high purity scintillator. In this paper the detector design and the status of the Borexino experiment are briefly reviewed.
