We present the first spectrum of the suspected cataclysmic variable AD
Men. The spectrum shows clear emission in Balmer lines and HeI and a
high Balmer decrement. We conclude that the system is a low mass
transfer dwarf nova, probably situated below the period gap and seen at
rather high inclination.
