Dense Stellar Systems
Scientific paper
Initially fractal star clusters undergo a dramatic phase of dynamical evolution. Significant amount of substructure can remain in the clusters especially if the initial velocity field is correlated with the density structures. As observations show that many star clusters are born clumpy simulations with smooth initial conditions may be missing an important phase of cluster evolution.
