Abstract

The conditions of the isostatic state of the Martian crust are studied in global and regional scales, on the basis of an analysis of the relations between Bouguer gravity anomalies and the planet's topography. The contribution of the isostatic crustal structure to the Areoid Heights (100 to 200 m) is evaluated. The differences between the normal stresses generated by the anomalous thicknesses of the Martian crust are determined.
