The magnetopause of a symmetric quadrupole embedded in a parallel streaming plasma is calculated using the method of the Chapman-Ferraro problem. The magnetopause of a symmetric quadrupole field is found to have three neutral points for the flow direction case lambda = 0 and two neutral points at a large polar distance for lambda = pi/4, where particle impact into the magnetosphere is possible. Integral curves for the dayside and nightside solutions for these flow directions are shown.
