Relations among past variations in low-energy cosmic-ray fluxes, solar activity, geomagnetic-field intensity, and the C-14 content of earth's atmosphere (as given by tree rings) are investigated. Autocorrelation spectra of a generalized series of data on C-14 content and sunspot number for approximately the last 300 yr are analyzed, a possible correlation is observed between C-14 content and sunspot number, and it is found that variations in C-14 content occur in 80-yr cycles. Analysis of C-14 time spectra for about the last 7000 yr reveals variations with cycles of approximately 36, 80, 360, and 600 yr. Modulation of the C-14 formation rate during minima and maxima of solar activity is examined, and a relation is determined between extremum values of the geomagnetic field and corresponding variations in C-14 content. A possible 600-yr cycle of solar activity is also discovered.
