The presence of outflows in cataclysmic variables (CVs) is revealed in the UV resonance lines of some nova-like CVs and dwarf novae in outburst. Recent observations have demonstrated that spectroscopic wind features in CVs can be also studied in the optical. Eclipsing CVs are especially useful to provide information on the spatial distribution of winds. We wish to obtain orbit-resolved spectroscopy of an eclipsing CV, BT Mon, which was recently found to have P Cygni profiles in the optical, in order to to study the orbital characteristics of the wind. These measurements will test our hypothesis regarding the contrasting behavior of the singlet and triplet lines of He I with the presence of the wind, and help place constraints on the geometry and the physics of the outflow.
