The mu(+)/mu(-) ratio was recalculated by parameterizing the single-particle inclusive cross section in pp collisions on the basis of recent ISR data, it being assumed that scaling was reached at these energies. Elasticity of nucleons and inelasticity of produced particles are estimated so that their sum is approximately 1.0, in accordance with the conservation law. The calculations lead to the value of 132 g/sq cm for the attenuation length of nucleons in air, in good agreement with the recently observed value of about 137 g/sq cm, and to the value of 1.495 for the muon charge ratio. This latter value is higher than experimental values, but it was reached by assuming that the inclusive spectrum of leading hadrons from the nucleon-nucleus collision is, at sufficiently high energies, the same for the nucleon-nucleon collision.
