A long series of radar observations of meteors made at the Onsala Space Observatory in Sweden was analyzed, and the results indicate a short-term dependence of meteor radar rates on geomagnetic activity and solar corpuscular radiation. The technique of superimposed epochs was used. An increase in geomagnetic activity begins after sector boundary passage, with a maximum occurring about 2.5 days later; the broad minimum in meteor radar echo rates begins after passage of the sector boundary and is most pronounced near epoch day +3. Data on the Perseids are discussed, and the heating of upper atmospheric layers when the earth's magnetic field varies is considered.
