Normal fault scarps at Tempe Terra have much lower slopes (<30°)
than expected for faults forming in an Andersonian stress regime. We
discuss three possible mechanisms responsible for forming fault scarp
slopes <30°: low coefficients of friction, fault rotation, and
scarp degradation.
