IN NATURE of July 29 Mr. R. M. Deeley criticises Prof. Hobbs's
terminology in describing the meteorological conditions of an ice-cap as
anticyclonic. He arrives at the conclusion from Prof. Hobbs's statements
that low pressure exists at the centre. This is scarcely necessary.
